The six-week rule

Book the jabs when you book the flights.

Most travel vaccines need time to work, and some need multiple doses weeks apart. Hepatitis B is a three-dose course; rabies needs three visits over a month. Come six weeks out and everything is straightforward. Come the week before and we'll do what's possible — honestly told, including what protection you won't have.

  • Bring your itinerary, including stopovers and rural travel.
  • Bring any vaccination records you have.
  • Children are welcome — family appointments available.
It depends on destination, season, activities and your vaccination history — that's the consultation. We use current NaTHNaC country data, not a fixed menu.
